The European Federation of Origin Wines (EFOW) is pleased to announce that the Greek Wine Federation has joined the organisation as a new member.
This new membership marks an important step in strengthening cooperation between European wine-producing countries on issues related to Geographical Indications (GIs), wine policy and the promotion of origin wines. It also reflects a shared willingness to further develop and support GI producer groups across the European Union.
Mr. Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, President of EFOW, stated: “We are delighted to welcome the Greek Wine Federation to EFOW. Greece has a unique wine heritage and an important role to play in the future discussions on European wine policy. This new membership further reinforces EFOW’s representativity and our collective work in support of GI wines.”
Mr. Stellios Boutaris, President of the Greek Wine Federation, added: “Joining EFOW is a valuable step for the Greek wine sector. It will allow us to take part more closely in discussions on Geographical Indications and to work with other producing countries on the challenges we share. We look forward to contributing actively within EFOW.”
With this new membership, EFOW continues to expand its network and strengthen the voice of GI wine producers in Europe.
